STI's testing is performed to meet current editions of National
Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Standards 1901 and 1911. When you choose SOUTHEASTERN TESTING INC., you can be confident that your equipment meets these standards.
-- Annual testing includes a check of the no-load governed speed, a vacuum test of the pump and a pumping test which includes pumping 100% of the capacity at 150 psi for 20 minutes; a 5 minute overload test at 165 psi; 70% capacity test for 10 minutes at 200 psi; and a 50% capacity test at 250 psi. A test of the pressure control device is also performed. All gauges are checked for accuracy and the entire pump is inspected for leaks. After inspection, you will receive a detailed report of the test results as well as any discrepancies found that are either a recommendation or a requirement of NFPA 1901and 1911. STI then gives consultation on any deficiencies that need corrective action and any retests that may be required. Annually inspected and correctly maintained fire pumps ensure accurate performance and meet the requirements of NFPA 1911 and the ISO standards.
-- Third party inspection is performed on new apparatus. STI performs this inspection to comply with all NFPA 1901 and ISO 17020 requirements. When you purchase a new truck inspected by Southeastern Testing Inc., you can be assured it meets ALL required NFPA standards and will perform as required when the emergency arises.
